The Good News Thread

DH accidentally busted the face of his iPhone :facepalm:It's still kinda-sorta usable, but...

Here's the Good News part:
I had been clearing out my home office desk drawers and found my old-not supported by our provider any longer-iPhone --- it still works, it just needs to be hooked up to a Wireless provider.
We had just been talking about our wireless bill going up, yet again, another $20+/month and that we truly do not need to have two full service iPhones.
I'm going to go to Wally World in the next few days and see if we can us Consumer Cellular service unlimited Talk & Text only for around $25/mo ... we really don't need to have two full service lines. I said that if DH needed to use the Internet (aka 10 year little boy needs entertainment while we're out&about), he can simply use my phone, with limitations.

or you could set up a hotspot on your phone and he can still use his own phone connected to your hotspot which is what we do when we are abroad because my OH's work phone does not get data abroad.

Its a 5 min job to set it up first time around and then turning on and off, is simply a question of clicking a button on and then off again (or setting it to auto disconnect after x minutes of inactivity....)

This came as a surprise this morning!

We have a nephew in college who plays baseball (also DH's godson). He just got recognition on a college ball stats website for pitching 96 mph and six strikeouts in 6 innings. He pitched a scoreless six innings and allowed just three hits on 69 pitches. He's doing great!
Wow!!! Given the distance between the pitching mound and home plate at 60' 6" that means the batter has about 0.4 seconds to see all that coming at you. The energy isn't shabby either... 👏
