I made similar comment earlier. I don't see him as idealogical so much as an egomaniac. Russia's economic model resembles the Mafia more than it does socialism/communism.

He is highly educated, a former director of the KGB intelligence service (now known as FSB) and strategist.
So, basically the exact opposite of Slow Joe.

How many of you on this forum are familiar with what is known in the venacular as the "deep state"?

Odd that he should say that. I´ve just checked and none of the top 10 donors are oligarchs.
Like saying " The labour party is only funded by extreme left-wing unions"
(Well, McCluskey WAS a confirmed commie!)

Looking at Wikipedia and other sources, his career at the KGB wasn't exactly stellar and he was just a beaurocrat.... obviously his biographers tell the version he wants people to believe though

Are you talking about the party, or individual MPs where the sums are smaller, but the influence more direct. A quarter of the current cabinet have Russian donations declared in their lists of personal interests.
