What’s the next kitchen item you plan to buy?

We've always had Osterizers here. They come with a glass pitcher.
Over the past 10 years, I've broken the pitcher twice, and my wife has broken it once.
Plastic pitchers from now on. Glass is dangerous for ageing children.
I believe Oster was the inventor of the blender. Certainly it is a solid brand. I chose this one for its size and power. I might have chosen an Osterizer if I had found one on Amazon. I think the Ninja will be OK despite the plastic pitcher. It does a good job blending and has the largest pitcher I could find in my online search.

Well amazon got another sale.
Went with these for the garlic cheesecake as don't have a lot of room here and they are relatively inexpensive.
Hoping they're not too swineish to remove the cheesecake from, I don't have a lot of faith in silicone moulds but I'll grease them well before I start and may briefly freeze them before trying to turn them out.

If they work out prettily I might do them as a starter for my aged parents family get together.

Roasted the garlic yesterday evening and bonus already have a tub of black garlic in the cupboard 👍

My next kitchen item is already on order. I have been very happy with the Eslite cookware I bought to replace all that All Clad and other expensive pots and pans. This stuff performs better at a fraction of the price. So I ordered the 11" crepe pan to replace the old one that had warped. It should serve as a tawa as well so maybe I will experiment with some Indian cookery. Mostly it will make crepes. Perhaps there are some suggestions for Indian tawa dishes.

I am very, very excited about this purchase because it's taken me just short of 30 years to do it and while I've been procrastinating they upgraded it significantly!

My magimix food processor was a house warming gift and I broke the lid pretty soon after receiving it. It was usable but probably a bit dangerous, then I cracked the bowl but I looked at the price of a replacement and just put up with anything watery leaking out of the bottom a bit.

This has been a constant pain in my backside and every Christmas when I need a larger processor and hate the extra work cleaning all the leaky stuff off takes I absolutely swear I'll get a replacement bowl and lid.. then I look at the replacement parts price (£100) and I don't.

Today thinking about cooking for 10 in just over a weeks time I thought I'll need the bigger processor.

I've finally ordered it. I'm ecstatic (that's not an exaggeration 😆) that I'll finally not only have a replacement bowl but the upgraded version with 3 different bowl sizes, new discs, a chute that's apparently big enough for whole potatoes blocks of cheese and more robust dishwasher proof bowl, it was only £5 more than the bog standard one 👏

and kudos to Apple software for picking the word 'Magimix' out of a skewhiff photo of a tatty label under the machine that I took 4 years ago!

That looks like the bowl set I have on my Magimix (Patisserie) which takes the 5200xl bowls. It does usually manage whole potatoes unless they are huge jacket sized potatoes and then I have to slice a side off... by those are the potatoes that you only need 2 of for 1kg in weight.

Yes the 5200 bowls are what I was after for my 5100.

Do you have the little bowls as well? I'm interested to know if they're any good.

If you mean the 2 bowls inside the big bowl, yes, I have them. I don't often use them though because I also have a Magimix Le Mini from years ago and if I need a small quantity I use that primarily because I find that small quantities in the smallest bowl typically dirtied the big bowl as well which was a pain. They don't seal at the top, so if I say chop up stale breadcrumbs or nuts in the small bowl, I'll end up having to tap a small quantity out of th main big bowl as well. So I just use the Le Mini instead. Mine is about 5 years old now I guess, so they may have dealt with that?

Though now I am wondering if the medium bowl needs to be put in as well, to use the smallest bowl? I've not been doing that which could be the problem because the medium bowl does seem to have a lip in the lid that makes that seal... 🤔

Hmm a bit of YouTube tutorial time?

No, not a fan of YouTube and I've limited data on satellite bb, so avoid it as much as possible. I'm going to need all of my phone data as well as satellite bb data for going back to university online because I still have lectures at set times of the day and I've just realised that Queensland where the uni is are a different timezone for half the year... I just can't remember which way around it is... but if I've a 9am lecture, it may be at 8am or 10am depending on which way... which means that night time lecture might actually run until after I usually go to bed... 💩

Exciting though ay! When do you start?

Granted theres a lot of rubbish on YouTube but theres some really useful stuff too.
Nearly all my motorcycle repairs I wouldn't have been able to do if it hadn't of been for helpful YouTubers.
Plus when I'm buying something there's often something I want to know that's not listed in the specs and some YouTuber will have covered it.
Even simple things like the best way to sew something YouTube will give you 10 different ways.
Youtube has saved me a lot of time and money over the years.

Have been trying out the new food processor bowls and I am very happy with them. I’m not having any problems with food exiting and making the other bowls dirty but you do have to have all three bowls in for it to work.
I am loving having that powerhouse back out. It grated a whole block of vegan ’Parmesan’ in seconds.

It made the kipper paté and pea pesto in moments.

I didn’t realise the dough blade was so good at rubbing butter into flour and I never knew what the egg whisk attachment was for as I promptly lost the instructions and 30 years ago there was no internet!

A youtube review showed me the ginger/horseradish/lemongrass disk which I oh so want because my rubbish thumbs hate that job and theres a natty citrus squeezer that juices in a fast an painless fashion so thats on the list because my lot love a Long Island Ice tea and Key Lime Pie and squeezing enough lime for both of those totally wears my hands out!

Also in the basket is the 2mm X 2mm julienne disc and a couple of others grating and slicing sizes because my discs do not fit the new bowl!

I just need to pull the trigger but Magimix is an expensive purchase so maybe a G&T first! 😂
