What are you baking today (2025)?

Made some burger buns:

These are fairly large - the recipe called for 12, but I made 8 larger ones.

I would definitely use these for (certain) sandwiches, but I’ll probably freeze four of them.
I haven't frozen any already cooked bread/buns yet and was curious how they keep. I have frozen dough but not cooked. Do you find them less soft after freezing when already cooked?

I don’t see much difference - nothing’s as good as fresh from the oven, I suppose, but I think they’re fine. I freeze a lot of bread for use later. I just triple-wrap it in plastic wrap, then in some foil.

Yes and No.

I tried that recipe in my first attempt, and modified it because it was way too thick. Think slicing batter not pouring it. Recipe - (Vegan) Crumpets (1) this is the guardian one with the issues highlighted.

Recipe - (Vegan) Crumpets (2) this is the recipe I now use. It says fresh yeast, this time I used 1 tsp dried yeast (I think it really only needs ½ tsp but my yeast is long out of date and very slow).
