@morning glory - I have told him about the positive response to his dish. He is so proud. He has NEVER agreed to share his recipe with me Guess what he is doing - typing up his recipe for me to share with you! He is puffed up and beside himself with pride. All of a sudden his "secret" recipe is one he wants to share. He wanted to know if it was being entered in a competition. :laugh::laugh:

Good thing I love that man.

@ElizabethB

Well, great .. I shall have to prepare it with a firm Mediterranean species however ! Wow .. Well, you can tell him, I am going to prepare it ! Congratulations ..

Perhaps a scorpion fish or rape ( monkfish ) or wild cod .. I have all three frozen as the prices are soaring due to the holidays.

So, let me see what my dad, husband and sons bring in from their boating trip this weekend .. My husband is up visiting his parents, as they will take boat out at dusk Sunday morning.

I needed to stay home and organise the cabinets, my closet and provide the Cleaning Gal with all she needed to do the hard stuff (Windows etcetra). I shall have dinner with lady Friends just close to the apartment and relax with my December magazines I have not had a chance to read yet ..

Just grabbed a bite out with my husband at the La Mercat de La Boqueria today..

Some cod fish croquettes and a " Caldo de Jerez " which is a clear ham broth and Aged Sherry Broth to keep warm ..

Have a lovely weekend ..

@MypinchofItaly & @ElizabethB & @morning glory

It is one of those fast lunches that hit the spot .. And so so traditional here when it comes to Spanish regional cuisines ..

Yet, are favorites amongst all ages ..

Have a lovely weekend ..

What are you going to see ?

Have a marvelous time and weekend ..

We are going to see Murder on the Orient Express...I'm a Kenneth Branagh fan.
I've also loved so much the original movie with a great cast (Vanessa Redgrave, Albert Finney -Poirot-, Lauren Bacall and many others) and I've read almost all Agatha Christie's books.

Does he cook other things to? :whistling:

Mostly "camp food" - stews. He does make good use of the infrared "oil less fryer". Turkey, chicken, pork ribs, pork roast, Cornish hens. I have "shamed" him into using his electric smoker. He has this lovely electric smoker - supposedly to use for sausage making. So he kills a deer and brings it to a processor! Ultimatum - we either make our own sausage or you bring your venison to a processor and we get rid of the smoker. We make our own sausage. Honestly - so much better than processed sausage. Full control of the ingredients. His scrambled eggs are disgusting.

Tourtiere is a French Candian meat pie. It is traditionally eaten around Christmas..I usually make around 100 full sized pies this time of year for customer..Usually I leave some to make small single serving pies for myself and a few family members..I am cheating a bit and eating one a week before..
