Black pudding! now I'm a fan
Oven chips or home-made?
They may both be tasty but they are not remotely alike in ingredients! Black pudding is predominantly pig's blood and pork fat whilst haggis is an offal mixture with oats predominantly i.e. no blood!Black pudding is like haggis, some brands are really tasty others are not very good.

I am well aware of this! @MypinchofItaly was in Scotland and didn't like haggis but does like black pudding. I was merely pointing out that not all black pudding is good and not all haggis is bad.

Very true. In fact its true of British bangers (sausages) too. Over the last 15 years the pork sausage has multiplied and divided itself into a hundred different versions. Some are good but a lot are not.
Oh OK...that wasn't clear from your post. Thanks for clearing that up.I am well aware of this! @MypinchofItaly was in Scotland and didn't like haggis but does like black pudding. I was merely pointing out that not all black pudding is good and not all haggis is bad.
Yes, most of them are awful, especially the supermarket ones with all sorts of weird ingredients. I love sausages, but I only buy plain pork Gloucester Old Spot or similar, made by local butchers. Nothing else comes close. Ironically, the really cheap catering sausages served up by roadside catering vans also work for me - with a fried egg in between two slices of plastic processed bread. For some reason it really works!True. I have never been a big fan of sausages but if we find a good one then I do enjoy. There are some really awful ones out there
