Tonight's dinner was a jacket potato (done in the microwave) with stir-fried onion/carrots/peas/red peppers with crushed garlic and a touch of crushed chilli, topped with fried paneer. The second photo is self-explanatory, I think :D

I'm trying so hard not to read this in the context of my recent post.

Time to start a cucumber thread, perhaps?
sounds like you are indeed.

I have grown cucumbers in the Uk and here and the ones picked straight off the 'vine' are amazing. They ooze water and are so fresh and gorgeous. I had one variety in the UK that was literally almost sweet to eat straight off the vine. They were stunning. I wish I could both remember what they were and get them here - the availability so far has been limited which is a shame because here they will grow in the open beds or up the frames for squashes and beans/peas. In Aus you grown squashes up frames and they climb big time. and it works really well. I was a touch surprised at first, but... right - hot chocolate time and then back to that document I need to write :whistling:

We are a bit off topic. Cucumber (like its fat cousin, the marrow) is a much maligned vegetable. The adjectives 'watery' and 'insipid' are often applied. I would start a new thread. But its late here...

Have veggies - made salad. (Persian cucumbers included - half discs)

We also have a lot of leftovers, so the rest of supper was must-goes.

So back on topic and chocolate tagliatelle it is...

Chocolate Cashew nut cream

I'll add some piccies shortly of it the chocolate pasta cooked and served with the chocolate sauce. The aim is to use the same sauce for both versions so we can compare and decide which we prefer!

Lunch.... We actually preferred the sweet chocolate tagliatelle. We are only talking about 15g of powdered sugar (icing sugar or similar, I didn't have any so put raw sugar (equiv to caster sugar or granulated) into my spice grinder and powdered it. I made identical pasta (right down to the eggs from the same chook!) and simply added 15g of powdered sugar to the 2nd batch.

They were served with the same creamy dark chocolate cashew nut sauce. I served it in some small IKEA bowels we have, hence it looking like a lot more than it actually was and given you can't tell the difference between the 2 batches of tagliatelle, I won't bore (or is it boar) you anymore with chocolate pasta.
