I am surprised that you had to get it brought from the UK...i thought Thailand would have all of these hot chili mixes

As far as I know, all the chili pastes/mixes here are made from Thai hot chilies ( http://freebeerforyorky.com/peppers/pepper-8.html ) or prik kee noo ( http://freebeerforyorky.com/peppers/pepper-5.html ).

There are other chilies available; red/green cayenne; fresno; pepperocini; and jalapenos are available in Bangkok; but these are alien to most Thais.

[Edit: I didn't ask him to bring it - he just thought it was a good idea. Probably why I haven't opened it yet]

The Soutzouki, is a Greek spicy sausage that it prepared with a walnut wine and the spicy marinated porc is rolled into a sausage format.

The flavor profile is quite different .. and the ingredients and spices used have their nuances too ..
