Next on my To Do list for my sous vide machine: a sous vide is almost literally designed for treatment of finicky cuts of meat. I imagine they were impossibly moist and flavorful.

I can't wait to get my sous-vide (birthday present). Veg are supposed to be amazing too...

Yes, they were very succulent. Pork chops are probably on the limit of what I would consider tough cuts, i.e. worthy of cooking sous vide.

We had some of last night's soup (one bowlful left for anyone who wants it), plus the last grilled item of the summer - hamburgers. I made a small batch of potato salad, with enough leftovers for another meal later this week. If you want to see the soup, just look ^upthread ^. :whistling: Meanwhile, here is a burger platter:

Hubby had caramelized onions instead of mushrooms. I'm still soaking the pot the onions were cooked in, and will be for days...

Last night's dinner was the remaining spicy potato and lentil patties with the last of the mixed salad leaves, freshly made yoghurt, the nearest I'll ever eat to a runny egg, and wholemeal flat breads. One of the patties did break as I was prising it off the plate I'd frozen them on, but otherwise they were all nice and crispy, and very spicy.

Breakfast today was muesli and yoghurt with milk, and lunch was a couple of toasted cheese and piccalilli sandwiches. The jury is still out on what I will eat tonight.

I've been feeling a little bit like I may have been run over by a truck while I was sleeping last night. Quite a trick for the driver, since we sleep on the second floor of our house! Anyway, we had enough leftovers to graze on, so I didn't cook. Thank you all for not coming over and eating that last bowl-worth of soup. That, along with a small ham & cheese sandwich, was my supper. Hubby finished the chili, and had a bit of leftover pork.
