What did you cook or eat today (April 2020)?

Cup,of earl and two slices of fruit loaf. Was yummy. It's a spicy fruit loaf that smells like Easter buns.

Last of the tomatoes so,yesterday I made 6 litres of tomato sauce. Had about 3 kgs left over so today I made tomatoe pasta sauce , I'll freeze for winter. Garlic s and p oregano and fresh basil cooked down. Looks and smells Devine.

For an American, you've produced a fairly decent looking bangers and mash, just saying.

The gravy was really good, spot on, and mash is mash, but the Irish and UK sausages here are never quite right.

These weren't bad by any means, and considering that they're from a big national maker here (Johnsonville Meats), I was quite happy with them, but they weren't...perfect.

Actually, it's not! There is a huge difference between average and really good mash. Yours looks pretty good, admittedly. Does it have chives in it?

We discovered these recently. Perfect for making nibbles whilst cooking Sunday lunch. Today, they are being eaten with Boursin cheese, pickled walnuts, cornichons and slices of chorizo, and washed down with some of the cold and fizzy stuff.

I made something that used Taralli, which are very similar, maybe even the same thing. Of course, they weren't in regular grocery and we didn't feel like driving to the Italian market, so I found a recipe by Mario Batali and made some. They were good little snacky things.
