Durac Bone-in Pork Chop done Sous Vide and then seared in a screamin' hot cast iron pan over the gaser grill - outside!!!
No mess - no fuss -very good supper!
Sides are my homemade Cinnamon Apple Sauce (pork chops & apple sauce - in my best Peter Brady voice ), roasted Russet Potato cubes all gussied up in spices and herbs and a heapin' mound of Spinach - doc told DH eat more dark leafy greens...
I hope to find this heritage type of pork again!

I had a surprise dinner :)

One of the unmarked tupperwares in the freezer. This happens quite often.
It's a matter of partly defrosting, checking, maybe smelling, and deciding if it should go with rice, potatoes, noodles or whatever.
I gambled correct on this one. It was terung belado (Indonesian eggplant dish) so had it with rice.
No pics though

Posted at the challenge, a creamy Kohlrabi, parsley root, ginger, potato soup. I have some lovely gluten free quinoa-turmeric crackers (store bought), I might finish those with the soup.
The intention alongside the vegetables, was to buy some minced meat, but the mincing machine was broken at the Butcher's. He said Thu, the new one will arrive, however, I had some unexpected things to do before work, so possibly tomorrow or on Sat.

I like their chicken club Flatbread and the parmesan encrusted chicken. I get paid to eat there and those are my go-to favorites.
The atmosphere was horrible - open and loud! We had to shout our orders to our server.

Food was so-so - there was a lot of wilted and brown lettuce in my salad, and MrsT’s potstickers were really overdone and very hard to chew through.

Lastly, for some reason, the entire floor, from the entrance, through the bar, into the dining area, and even into the restroom, was greasy and slick. The whole thing. I even demonstrated it by moonwalking from the restroom back to our table…and I can’t moonwalk!

That sounds pretty horrible. I can say both of our 2 locations are nothing like that, though 1 we like slightly better than the other. Were you sitting near the bar? I've never noticed ours being noisy. I would have thought they were all laid out in the same design. Is your location older?

It's weird how chain restaurants are so inconsistent. We have 4 Applebee's restaurants within 20 miles and 1 is awful, 2 are mediocre, and 1 of them is well-run with decent food. I think most of their food is pre-made so you'd think it should all taste the same, but it doesn't.

No, we weren’t too near the bar. It’s a big, open plan, bar and some of the dining room on one level, and then maybe two steps up to the rest of the dining room. No walls or partitions, except for a waist-high thing separating out the bar, concrete floors, metal chairs scraping all over the place, music, and 50-foot ceilings, like eating in a warehouse, exposed ductwork and all that.

I don’t know how long it’s been there…maybe 5-7 years ago?

We normally go when it's not peak time, that might help with noise, but if they don't put out properly cooked food, why bother!
