Out for a curry with some mates last night, but mine was a bit disappointing.

First up I had a king prawn puri which was the best of my dishes. That was actually really good.

But my main was a chicken biryani and when it arrived I was poking around under this mass of vegetables on top looking for some chicken but couldn't find any, so called the waiter and said I thought I had been mistakenly served a vegetable biriyani. It had plenty of chunks of tomato, potato, broccoli... not things I'd normally associate with a chicken briyani.

Anyway he took it off me then used my spoon to dig in the rice and said it was indeed a chicken biryani and gave it back. So I had a look and under the pile of rice were some tiny cubes of chicken about 1cm on a side nestling amongst the grains. My mate and I counted 5 such pieces.

Anyway, the manager came over to try and make good and asked me if I would like some extra chicken and he would throw in some free chicken tikka. How could I say no? So they brought out these rather dry, overcooked and tasteless white strips (this is about a third of it after I'd passed it round as there was quite a bit):

So full marks for effort to try and rectify a slightly disappointing situation, but if I went there again I don't think I'd be ordering the biriyani or tikka. My mates' dishes all seemed to hit the spot with them.

I had a bottle of Cobra too, It was flat lol:
