Last nights dinner was salad.
Very nice!We don't like fruit cake in this house so I usually make some kind of chocolate cake for Christmas. This year hubby put in a special request for a Yule Log:

We were something similar but with a Thai dish , a laksa made vegan. But moving to Australia we found that it was simply too hot to be eating a (chilli) hot laksa when it was 38°C outside as it was the first year we were here. We've moved to salad and pavlova now. The Chickpea salad i make us made from scratch, cooking the Chickpeas in turmeric and loads of garlic which really adds to their taste. The salad is a very rich salad with a lot of extra virgin olive oil in it. We use a very good local one now. But it is so rich that it is something we don't eat often because of all that olive oil. I've just realised that we don't have bread made to mop up the extra oil.. something I'll have to add to tomorrow's jobs list in the kitchen!Vegetable curry just made for scoffing tomorrow...cauliflower is the main ingredient, but plenty of other bits and pieces. We don't celebrate Christmas, but a curry on Christmas Day has become a tradition.
Dip in diluted red food dye then roll in caster sugar. Killer cookies View attachment 53410View attachment 53411
