What did you cook or eat today (December 2022)?

I managed to get a semi decent photo of the Palestinian Upside Down Rice (even if it is the right way up rice!)

I also raided the garden veg plot for some broccoli (very tasty and as fresh as it can get, cooked within 15 minutes of being harvested.)

So the evening meal. I roasted the Brussels sprouts with S&P plus oil and served them with a touch of balsamic glaze.

There was also a decent portion of raspberries that never technically left the veg plot :whistling: .
That rice dish looks really good.

DH had an appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon (grade 3 a c separation-like a football player, only he went unconscious and fell off the chair on his left shoulder) still can't do PT on it, not until the Cardio EP gives the green light ... went out to lunch after that...

Went to our favorite Asian Bistro and DH tried a new menu item ... Fried Oysters from Hiroshima Japan ... verdict: meh, too much breading and oily (aka oil wasn't hot enough).

I'm channeling my inner 10 year old self ...

Air Fried Chicken Strips & Fries (Chips) ... I even served it up on a Paper Plate, I can't be bothered with washing a dish!
I didn't eat very much today, because we were so very busy, so I treated myself to a Kids Meal ... I'd been thinking of this FOR DAYS!!!
Ranch Dressing for dipping is a must

Hello Fresh sponsors a lot of good YouTube cooking channels, but I've never tried them. It sounds like you like them.

CD
We do like them. Husband signed us up after I broke my ankle and he had to take over all the cooking duties (he’s still doing most of it, but I did make my own tea the other day! Go me!)

He mostly wanted to get some new ideas and stop making the same few recipes over and over (I’m someone who likes a lot of variety in my diet and I get bored really easily.)

It also cuts down on the number of times we have to go to the grocery store, which is nice.

The dishes themselves have all been really good - my only complaint is that some of them are a bit too salty.

^^Yep - we’ve especially found this with the Hello Fresh dishes that use soy sauce. We always buy the low-sodium kind, and we don’t tend to add a lot of salt to our food. When we make something with regular soy sauce, holy salt Batman!
