Imam Biyaldi with vegan roasted duck, carrots and asparagus. The bread was to mop up the juice from the aubergine. Marginally less mint tonight, but not by much. Hubby likes his mint

Picked up these novel instant ramen packs on a recent short trip to Bangkok. My son is a ramen fiend but also loves (real) Carbonara and he gave these an ‘ok but not brilliant’ endorsement. They were alright as a snack - gotta say I love the packaging.

Last night was the first night of Hanukkah, so Picky Eater and I made latkes. A lot of latkes. Remarkably, we work very well together in the kitchen.

Taco salad with a chipotle-honey vinaigrette. The goodies are fresh chorizo, corn, avocado, tomatoes, black olives, sour cream, pickled red onions, and cilantro. There is lettuce underneath, a spring mix.

I made grilled B/S Teriyaki Chicken Thighs, My Quick Cucumber Kim Chee (or kimchi, whatever) and some more of that Fried Rice that I made earlier.

I had enough leftover to make up a small Bento Box for Mom that I'll take over to her, along with a few other bits I have for her, tomorrow before we go to the dentist.

*Cook's note: I always cut up "meat" so that the diner feels that are getting more than they really are ... less is more

A simple radish salad. But it needs something else. Maybe a dash of vinegar (malt or balsamic) or lime juice. Plus a little coriander leaf?

Hers. Yes, it's a very, very nice kitchen, much better and bigger than mine. The first time I went over there, I brought my knives, then found that she was massively stocked with Wusthof and similar high-quality knives. And All Clad cookware. And Riedel stemware. And Weber cast iron skillets...
