Thank you. Yep, you made the idea just perfectly since 'in Purgatory' is referred to another dish we have here called 'Eggs in Purgatory' - referring to the fact that the white eggs, sorrounded by the red tomato sauce, look like the Purgatory’s damned souls, wrapped in flames.
Same thing for mozzarella.

I remember it having peppers in it, and onions. Not sure about other veggies. They are both tomato sauce based. I just know it tastes good, as I am sure the Italian version does.

Actually, shakshuka or chakchouka is much more complex. These dishes are like casseroles or stews with sunnyside up eggs cooked on top of them.

I’ve looked at your recipe and it’s very nice. It’s also more complex rather than Eggs in Purgatory as you said. I have to recollect ingredients and see what I can do - and/or buy new ones.
