Could be my age... bland bangers are comfort food to me!

So, what are snorkers? They showed up in a WWII British submarine movie I have and the officer sits down in the mess and is served these sausages and exclaims "Snorkers! Good O'!" The other officers in the mess made out like they all wanted to puke.

I think snorkers is just a slang term for sausages in general.

I like plain beef sausages, when we have a BBQ our son brings really odd sorts, Mexican spiced sausages wtf? Tomato n onion? Everyone goes for the plain beef.
Maybe he's a hipster?

Russ
Has he been to Mexico or the US? I like Mexican sausage. I don't know what to tell you about the tomato n onion sausage, that's unknown to me.

Smoked Sausage, Shrimp, Peppers, Onions, Ginger Bacon BBQ Sauce all finished with a little K.G.Butter & Green Onion over Basmati.

Last nights dinner. The bread was the star. Using a flour mix including rye I find to be a bit tricky. This turn out to be what I wanted a good sandwich/toast loaf. The caraway seeds gave the rye flavor a lift. Veal schnitzel, mash, slaw, Pud blood oranges.

There's an equally shocking quantity of cardamom as well. The whole spices are to make an aromatic oil in the first stage and later discarded - otherwise I think it would be inedible (it may yet turn out to be - I haven't tried to cook the actual final dish with it yet!).

Ah - an oil. That would explain it.

I just made some more scrambled eggs, with diced ham and shredded cheddar. Being cold burns calories -- really, it does. I have been eating leftover ham and bean soup, but I have been craving eggs. I have eaten a dozen in the last few days, where a dozen eggs will usually last me a month. I can only think that it is the cold weather that has me craving eggs. My body needs the protein, or something in those eggs, and is shouting at me, "Give me eggs!"

Looking at the last few posts, I am starting to develop a bit of a desire for pasta. Maybe with eggs?
