7 pages in and I've posted nothing...

I'll play catchup in a minute or two...

I made the Potato Cake again, only this time I added a cream of tartar to help the potato meringue. Not sure if it did it didn't help but we do seem to have a better cake. I left out the lemon zest and doubled the vanilla essence and as you can see, I topped tipped off with a punnet of blueberries. Luckily I did poke them into the batter because they didn't sink as I had hoped they would!

Hubby didn't want to wait until the cake was cold, and then tried for seconds... It is actually really nice. I went with a bigger cake tin than last time which has worked better. And I cooked it for longer on a lower temperature covering it with foil after the first half hour when it was close to the colour I wanted.

Tried these frozen pork dumplings for dinner...just so so really.

I made a whole lot of Mushroom Tarts, each one different. With sweet potato or winter squash (kabocha) bases, loads of grilled mushrooms and roasted vegetables. The calorie calculator says one tart is 200 calories -- and all of it cost me 5USD + pantry staples like butter and flour to make 'em all. Not bad for three days worth of food. :D

Oh, I have Boar's Head ham, two kinds of cheese and brioche slider rolls. Hmmmm, that may be the next thing I "graze" on. No broccoli.

CD
I’ve got maybe a dozen cheeses, but it’s all like cheddar, mild cheddar, sharp cheddar, extra-sharp cheddar, creamy cheddar, homestyle cheddar, old world cheddar…
