What did you cook or eat today (February 2025)

My son (who has cerebral palsy) has been having a few anger fits over the past days. It happens from time to time.
Sooo, today I took him out for pizza. The monstrous circular thing in the photo is a "Nonna Mia" special: tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, bacon. olives and corn. None left. Mine was a 4 seasons, but I only managed spring and summer; the rest is for breakfast tomorrow!

I make pizza right regular.

here is the most idiotic thing about making pizza I've ever seen:
Make delicious pizza with the help of these 12 tools and accessories
I do have some of the things in the article
Pizza peel, pizza stone, pizza oven: all came with my 2nd hand uuni 3
Got a thermometer but it doesnt work anymore and I won't be replacing it in a hurry.
Bench scraper, I got but I don't use it often.
Wooden peel, use it all the time for launching the pizza.

Looks like Daddy knows what buttons to press! 🥰

Eldest made us burger and chips and very nice it was too.

Put the pork in it’s briney bath to bob around for three days, hopefully some nice ham will be ready on Thursday.

Have allowed myself one (alright probably two) slightly more involved cooking days this week which will be some sort of ham and spring onion melt creation and something called a Basque Cheesecake which sounds like it very well might be a real thing or might be something Ninja made up 😂 I’m sure google will reveal all!

I forgot to add last night's salad and frittata.

Hubby made it all.

(I'm trying to keep him to his usual cooking items. He's more successful that way  )
He never burns the frittatas, thankfully. What is the percentile for burnt toast? Does he have any idea it's a running joke on CB?

Frittata sometimes have a bronzed bottom but never burnt, thankfully.

too high... I had a friend who always said that it was better to aim for the sky and land in the tree tops than to aim for the tree tops and land in the bushes. I think my OH aims for the stars on the toast front.

:giggle: nope

but he does name our chickens after his work colleagues... the latest is Harriet who can get lost standing still. Apparently Harriet the human has that similar talent, so I suspect he may realise. that said he thinks I am just been difficult on that front, because he will eat it anyhow. I would rather go hungry or make it myself.

Maybe one day he will make a piece of toast with Jesus' face on it and you can sell it on the internet for a lot of money.

MrsT has a work do at Maggiano’s Italian Kitchen tonight, so I drove her down, and now I’m endlessly circling the mall (on foot), around and around and around, surely it’s been two hours, right?…<checks phone>…good god, it’s been 17 minutes…😒

Anyway, it did afford me the opportunity to eat at the last Sbarro’s I know of, and I have to say, I quite liked it, even if it was way overpriced - one cheese slice, one pepperoni-and-sausage slice and a small drink…$15. Forget about eggs, who’s keeping an eye on mall food court prices?!
