Forgot to get pics, but a reuben and onion rings for MrsT and a Philly cheesesteak for me.

Here’s a side-effect of a stroke: before I left, I put the cast iron skillet in the oven and set it to 425F/220C, so I could crisp up her sandwich when I got home.

Got home, put on an oven mitt, got the screaming hot skillet out of the oven, sat it on the stove top, then started to unpack the food.

MrsT came out, wanted an onion ring, found the skillet blocking her reach, so she nonchalantly grabbed a 425F cast iron skillet, then slid it to the other side of the stove top, so she could reach her onion rings.

“GEEZ! THAT SKILLET IS SCALDING HOT!”

Skin across her hand is now angry red with some blistering, so she got anti-bacterial cream on it and bandaged up: “I still don’t feel anything.

That’s stroke hand. Here’s stroke brain:

I told her before I left the house that I was heating the skillet in the oven so I could crisp up her sandwich when I got back.

Once I got back, I took the skillet out and as she was walking into the kitchen, I said, “Watch that skillet, it’s hot!”

Five seconds later, she’s moving the skillet with her bare hand: “I forgot!”

I went to lean on my hot plates while did something else . I forget the ring was on earlier. You know it's hot but cant figure it out because the ring is off. Burnt left pinky finger . It's just getting better now.

I think I need to catch up again, I keep falling behind the class ...

TastyReuben inspired me, ontop of that, I had this kind of dressing at the last FFF with Ms&Mrs NDN,
fresh Orange Vinaigrette - YUM!!!
IMG_3568.JPG

Served ↕️ two ways this I was looking forward to all day - my entrée salad containing ready-to-eat grilled chicken breast, sliced carrots, sliced beets, cucumber, red bell pepper herb chevre aka goat cheese all atop some romaine
IMG_3570.JPG

again, grilled chicken breast, diced apple, dill havarti and pecans all on a bed of romaine
Both salads were stellar!!! Even DH tried a bit and liked them both
Note to self: nuts + cheese = TOO MUCH fat for one meal! :headshake:

Friday is Fish night for DH, he was brought that way ... grilled salmon fillets, my quick cucumber kim chee (or kimchi, whatever) - me, I could eat fish every day!
IMG_3567.JPG

For lunch, I made us Hot Roast Beef sandwich with chips/crisps ... it was terrible! We picked out the meat (way too dry) and only ate the bread and chips

This is Real Good Foods Chicken Cordon Bleu - very tasty! I made a huge bunch of fresh steamed spinach to go with - ONE GRAM of carbs!!!
