Might take your mind off the metallic taste but you’ll have to excuse me if I skip that tip 😂..or a tablespoon of Naga Jolokia hot sauce

When you make these, dip cheese in corn starch, tap off excess, then coat in beaten egg, then roll in bread crumbs. If you have spots that are "peaking through" dip back in egg and back in bread crumbs again. Set on cooling rack on baking sheet and freeze (just stick the entire baking sheet in freezer so they are as undisturbed as possible) for at least a few hours. The more frozen these are when frying, the better they hold up.I can help you tomorrow
Judging by the 17 pounds of cheese on top, that looks like Cincinnati chili. 😋
I said earlier that my paternal grandad loved squirrel more than anything else…my maternal grandad loved souse more than anything else!I'm drawn to cheap and keep looking at the different packages of pork souse being offered in the markets. They all seem so gray and unappetizing! 🙁
Had a go at making my own and this turned out pretty good. No clue what the commercial ones taste like yet and one day I'll get one to see but for now my homemade, on the fly, one is right tasty.

Never heard of pork souse.and keep looking at the different packages of pork souse being offered in the markets.
Pork, typically the cheaper cuts, (feet, tongues, hearts, tripe, etc.), carrots, onion, celery, spices and seasonings. The jelly is the collagen that cooks out. I made mine with a pig foot piece and a back piece. The back piece has the meat and the foot is, you know, mostly collagen, tendon and skin. Added in carrots, onion, roasted chili's etc. When I make it again I'll post a recipe. I searched and it's not an oft mentioned food on here. 🤔😉Never heard of pork souse.
I imagine it's like pork (& veg) in jelly?
Looks like a giant deconstructed stock cube 😂Pork, typically the cheaper cuts, (feet, tongues, hearts, tripe, etc.), carrots, onion, celery, spices and seasonings. pork souse at DuckDuckGo
How wonderful!Went to the Oriental Supermarket and above they have a large Chinese restaurant that serves a very large menu and caters for gluten free in a way that lets you know they understand what that means. I was like a pig in the proverbial!
First time I’ve been able to eat dim sum in a restaurant. What a treat!
I had three appetisers and was excited so ate a fair amount before taking pics!
Steamed prawn dim sum.

It was all excellent, I was absolutely stuffed, considering the portions were ‘appetisers’ they were large.
I will be back soon, maybe tomorrow 😂
It was busy, there was about 80 people in there and that was a Wednesday at 12.30pm which is early for lunch.
Mr SSOAP and I were one of only two lilly white couples in there, everyone else was Asian which I took as a very good sign.
I expected service to be slow as there didn’t seem to be many staff but it was fast and the food was piping hot, burn your mouth hot, so even though they were busy none of the food was sitting around on the pass 👍
The manager came to ask if everything was ok and I was so happy I blurted out “I feel like it’s my birthday” 😂
