Today's meal was a sweet potato/yam soup recipe, - Yam Egg Noodle Turkey Soup.

I never said I wouldn't eat a butter basted ribeye, I'm just saying I will pay for it later.

And...that's how I feel about hot dogs. Only I don't think they taste good, either. I do like a hot dog at a baseball game with chili, cheese, onion, and mustard, and the hot dog has to be practically burnt. But I haven't eaten one in over 10 years.

I am sorry that ribeyes don't agree with your stomach, but compared to a hot dog? SMH.

It's not so much the ribeye. I eat those from time to time and survive. It is the butter basting of the ribeye that messes me up. A fatty cut of meat basted with more fat. I guess that just pushes my GI tract over its limit.

I am also not comparing a steak to a hot dog. I like them both. I can't get Vienna Beef dogs down here. The rest of a Chicago dog is vegetables. It's like a meal on a bun.

Getting a Vienna Beef Chicago dog in Chi-town is like getting a cheesesteak or hoagie on Amoroso's bread in Philly or a 2-dollar slice of cheese pizza in NYC -- it's one of those things I enjoy doing when I travel.

2 X 6 pack of steak n cheese pies for family dinner tonight.
Pea pie and pud. Translation: a pie with mashed spuds on top, peas on the spuds, then optional Beetroot and a slice of onion. Most of us have the lot. Topped with tomato sauce and Worcester sauce.

Still not completely sure what it is, but the words "steak, cheese and mashed potatoes" has me thinking that I'd like it. I could do without the beets on mine. The onion slice works for me. I'm okay with the peas, too. Not sure about the sauces.

It's an old family thing, cheap meals I was bought up with, ones I've always made and my kids love them as well. Mr 7 fave is pizza then pea Pie n pud. We also can buy family size mince as well. I have one of those as well. When my wife txt the kids a few things to choose from, they both txt back pea pie n pud.
So that's what we are having.

This is one of the new vegetarian/vegan dishes I mentioned based on sweet potato that went out tonight as a special to see how it's received. Basically it's a sweet potato pave with fried onion, garlic, herbs, coriander, cumin, black cardamom in coconut milk. Sauteed mushrooms, raw jicama batons in a chimichurri marinade. The pave is sitting on swiss chard. Also the sauce is a combo of adobo made fresh and chipotle in adobo sauce, pureed. Also I pickled some jalapenos. We'll see how it sells. I also put this post in the challenge sweet potato thread.
