I've met a few famous musicians in my time. Maybe no one you had ever heard of, LOL. Certainly not as famous as Bruce Springsteen.
But there was this guy from a band named Parliament (funk band) named George Clinton. He had these crazy multicolored dread locks. Anyway, after they played a local venue, they came into the Italian restaurant I worked at when I was at college right when we were closing. My boss didn't know or care who they were but I talked him into letting them come in and order some food. They ended up ordering several pricey bottles of wine and the most expensive dishes on the menu, so he was pretty happy with me after that. I was pretty thrilled as I was a fan of the band.
Then there was this band named Creed who were just getting ready to sign their record deal. I used to hang out with them a bit since the bass player was from my home town and we knew a lot of the same people. They used to play at a bar downtown in Tallahassee, FL before they got signed. I always told their lead singer Scott that they were going places. They did put out a couple of albums and had some radio hits, but Scott got kinda wigged out and lost it. I hear he's broke these days. Sad how some people can't handle success.
