What did you cook or eat today (May 2020)?

This is one of my favorite salads. The veggies are tossed in a lemony vinaigrette, and the chickpeas are tossed in cumin, allspice, and cardamom, then warmed in a frying pan. Dollop of Greek yogurt finishes the whole thing.

Sounds good with those spices.

Here comes the weekend again.

I know on Sunday (Mother’s Day) there will be roast pork, with glass potatoes, mashed pumpkin/sweet potato, roast cauli & carrot plus steamed green veg and gravy.

Saturday is a mystery. There are rice noodles and enoki that need using up. We will see what inspiration brings.

I’ve also a craving for hummus topped with crispy mince & scooped up with crunchy flat bread.

Banh mi pork meatball sammies with carrot/radish slaw and Sriracha mayo.

I made on the fly individual banana puddings with some bananas that were in the freezer for dessert. Browning the meringue now.

Do you actually prefer duck over chicken eggs. I prefer chicken, but that's me. I found the duck a bit strong.

Yes, I prefer duck eggs. The problem I find is the difficulty in cracking what is a much thicker shell without breaking the yolk.

Prawn cocktail (for the hot weather).

[Note for morning glory - Another unsuccessful attempt at capturing a decent image. It's better but nowhere near what I was looking for. I blocked out as much extraneous light as I could to minimise glare and used a long exposure. I also tried ceiling bounced flash from 3 meters away but that was only partially successful. At least with a cold dish there is time to experiment.]
