Time delay: sorry TastyReuben and mrs T as well. I missed your anniversary.
Happy anniversary you guys from down under. Beautiful cake, I'd love a slice.
We don't really celebrate ours here. I was just asking my wife in the weekend ours must be coming up, I got that look that said I should know the date. I don't. To be informed its next month. I'll ask my daughter, she knows. She doesn't need any more jewellery, she has plenty.

Pork in whisky sauce. A typical Sevilla tapa turned into a nice lunch.

We went to the butcher earlier in the morning for the meat and the result couldn't have been any better.

Thanks! For the record, it was Wednesday last, but we usually wait until the weekend after for any celebrating.

Dinner today at a Mexican restaurant in Royal Oak. The highlight of the meal was probably Portabella Esquites (last pic) a blend of Mexican street corn, beans, cheese, and Portabella mushrooms.

But, they were incredibly stingy with the meat in the tacos. It’s hard to tell, but the first one shows the shrimp that they gave my wife on her tacos. It looks like they took maybe one shrimp and cut it up to spread it around. She ordered a side of shredded chicken to fill out tacos tacos, which turned out to be a good idea. The second one is beef brisket, but again there was a microscopic amount of meat. The taste were there, but there just wasn’t that much of it.

Overall, not a bad looking meal. But this Texan is right behind you on the tacos. They really short changed you on the shrimp and meat.

Windigo,

Your dish looks delicious. Can you please tell me more about “poke”.. is it the sauce or combination of ingredients? I have had a tuna poke before but, would love to take a stab at your chicken teriyaki poke bowl 👍🌞
Basically, Poké just means 'sliced' and refers to (raw) sliced fish. So I didn't make authentic Poke, as it would be sliced fish. But I figured sliced chicken would also be nice to serve in the same way.

A traditional poke bowl is a bowl filled with sliced fish , veggies & Hawaian native fruits.

Poke (Hawaiian dish) - Wikipedia

I will post the recipe later if you're interested.
