I was going to enter this in the lime challenge, but I deviated too much from the recipe I started with and didn’t really keep track of what I changed, so I’ll just post it here:

That’s chicken breast, marinated in a chili-lime concoction, then cooked off with some onion and tomatoes. I really wish I’d had a bell pepper of some sort to throw in there.

The side dish is asparagus and leeks, roasted in a mix of lemon juice (and lemons), olive oil, and butter.

Both were quite, quite delicious, served with some warmed whole wheat pita bread. Very happy with both dishes.

They are a little different. But, both good.

You misunderstand. I eat Philly cheesesteaks. I don't have a problem with other types of steak hoagies/sandwiches, mind you, but when I've been to Philadelphia I've had them (Philly cheesesteaks) and many restaurants here have them on the menu.

Nothing wrong with other steak sandwiches, I just prefer Philly cheesesteak.

Wow, that's fantastic news about the Log Cabin. I haven't had the original since the 1970s. My dad used to make me pancakes. These days I am doing fruit (usually banana or pineapple puree) pancakes with mostly butter and a slight touch of honey, is that a no-no for diabetics to have a little bit of honey? I probably should cut back on my sugar, even though I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I do love my carbs, and I know they can convert quite easily...
I would do some research on how to cut back on sugar and what would work for you. I married to a nurse so I get told no if I want to do something I want to try.

I'm not diabetic but I wouldn't mind losing another 10 pounds. I lost 20 pounds since 2019 without much effort but I'd like to accelerate it a little, cutting sugar would probably do that.

I was just wondering if you're allowed honey?

I’ll ask my wife when she gets home. When I was first diagnosed I changed my eating habits. Lost 7 lbs. got back into my old eating habits and gained 7 lbs in two weeks. Started watching what I eat again and have lost 15 this month. I’m not big but I could stand to lose another 10.

Yeah, I am with you on that, I too am not big but could drop a few more pounds. Mostly because maybe I could get off my hypertension medication then. Or at least lower the dose

I take 1 bp pill to balance mine. Daily, I hate pills but sometimes they are necessary.

My doctor told me a couple of years ago, “You lose a few pounds, we could probably cut your BP meds in half, you know.”

A year later, 40 pounds lighter, “Hey, remember when you said I cut cut back on my BP pills if I lost a little weight?”

“Yeah…let’s just keep it where it is for right now.”

That was 18 months ago, and I ask every six months, and she always says, “We’ll see next time.” - I think some docs love to prescribe those pills.

I really like a good cheesesteak. Onions and provolone on mine.
