I have the same problem when I roast chicken. I follow the recipe, but the chicken looks no where near how it does in the recipe. Never once has it.
They paint it with gravy browning (caramel colouring).
Food rarely involves only the actual ingredient looking like it really does.
But the supermarket websites are usually reasonably realistic because they get bad ratings otherwise, one of the joys of the internet!

I thought I remember some lawsuit a long time ago about this very thing, where you could only use what was in the food to try to sell it?
I remember hair spray was a big use in the food marketing industry and I could swear I remember stuff like that being banned, or heavily fined.

Lettuce
With pork from the smoker, but it has fallen away a bit in the picture. And hard boiled eggs
Tasty though

I think there are occasional lawsuits filed with regularity. The big one I remember hearing about was Campbell’s (or some other soup company) getting busted for putting marbles in the soup bowl first, then ladling the soup in, causing all the vegetables to sit up top, nice and visible.

I eat pizza with a knife and fork usually, so we both know the answer to this… :whistling:
So does my DH most of the time, unless it's that Brooklyn/NY-style foldable pizza slices. Do you eat sandwiches with a knife and fork? My husband does sometimes unless they are pre-cut up into bite size "finger" sandwiches.
