Out for our anniversary (which is tomorrow):

I’ve never had bruschetta with hot roasted tomatoes, but I quite liked it - pizza!

There was a cream of potato soup with hunks of ham in it, quite good, but it made an ugly photo.

NY strip with white peppercorn sauce, decent and au gratin potatoes, which were bone dry. They’ll appear again in tomorrow’s breakfast.

MrsT has the twin filets - one was excellent, one was dry and mealy - I said that’s was the side he rubbed up against the fence probably.

She also added a crab cake because market price lobster tail was $62 to add on, and she wouldn’t pay it.

Coffees were ok, but I don’t care how expensive a place we go to, or how inexpensive a place we go to, chophouse coffee is never hot. It’s barely past room temp, which is a sin to my palate.

Mine had Chambord, baileys, and chocolate liqueur in it, MrsT’s had baileys and caramel syrup.

All in all, it wasn’t a great experience, service was definitely amiss, very rushed (and they were far from crowded), and not terribly attentive. Some of the food was above average, some below. Just spotty overall. We won’t be back for a long time (this was only our second visit in 20 years, though).
Looks incredible

I've been so busy taking care of others needs, along with trying to get our things together for our trip, that I haven't "had the love" to cook much, so ...

My DH has taking me out to have Linner (late lunch/early dinner) often.
This was lovely, a daily special at one of the Italian joints we like: Parmesan crusted Orange Roughy in a lemon/butter/caper sauce, wilted Spanish and cherry Tomatoes that picked off and a side of Angel Hair pasta, YUM!!
That was two meal for moi!

Friday we went to a place called Cafe Nola in Pensacola Beach. Best red beans and rice I’ve ever had. Been on a road trip so eating out a lot this past week. Did a good job of finding good spots. Some better than others but not a bad meal. Back home. Had to take youngest grandson, five years old, to soccer tonight. Couldn’t talk him out of McDonald’s. First time in decades. At least he is enjoying his fries.

That's my old stompin' grounds! I've not been to the cafe in question, but I grew up in Destin (about 40 miles from there) and one of my husband's cousins lives in Navarre (about 20 miles maybe) and I have friends who live in Gulf Breeze (just over the PBay bridge going east from there). I've been to Pensacola probably 100 times, maybe 200? IDK passing through on my way to Mobile, Biloxi, and NOLA even more than that! And I love me some NOLA food! And OMG I am salivating over the idea of the fresh seafood around there...fresh grouper in particular.

Stop me if I told y'all this one already ... there's a food cart (travel trailer type) that has a get this, wood fired pizza oven that just started up and is coming to our homes community center once a week and then to others in the area as well.
So very excited!
It's a 12 inch pie with your choice of toppings.
I couldn't decide, but I knew that one pie would be plenty for us two, along with a chopped salad.
So, it's was half cheese and the other half is prosciutto arugula and a fig drizzle, AHYUM!!!
I'd been wanting to try a pie with prosciutto and arugula. I wasn't sure about the drizz, as I'm not a huge fan of figs, but I mean, come on man!!!
