So, my guess it that McDonald's special sauce was a their take on coleslaw? Because that is basically a coleslaw dressing recipe with 1000 Island dressing...Were Americans putting coleslaw on hamburgers back then? I know they were probably putting it on pulled pork...I'm just wondering if it was totally a Mcdonald's invention or they were just copying an already used practice..

It's hard to say, since coleslaw has so many different recipes. McD's Big Mac Sauce doesn't taste like the slaw I've had on a Carolina pulled pork sandwiches. But, I haven't had a Big Mac in a long time.

I have to confess that serving mashed potatoes (carbs) with pasta (also carbs) isn't something I'm familiar with!
Very, very common here.

I got served lasagne with chips/fries in a UK hospital.. I was quite surprised
That’s why the UK (or Ireland) is my favorite place to get lasagna!

Yup. Slawburgers are a regional specialty in the Midwest and South. I’ve posted a couple on here.

Good old easy Buffalo wings tonight. I coated them in AP flour this time. It doesn't change the flavor, but the wings were more moist than usual, and they are the exact same wings I've been using -- even from the same big package. I bought a 6 pound package of wings from COSTCO a while back, and the only thing I did different on this batch was flour them. Seems strange that it would make them retain moisture better, but they definitely were more moist. Maybe the flour formed a shell that held in moisture. :scratchhead:

Did you bake or fry the wings?
