Dinner this evening:

Thick Spaghetti, Marinara (jarred from Trader Joe's), homemade Meatballs, Bread Sticks from the freezer case at Wally World, all topped off with a drizz of Olive Oil and copious amounts for grated Parmesan cheese.
Did I say wine was involved too? :okay:

Still on the easy for size of life. Another doctors apt each tomorrow.

Lunch. Those raspberries are wonderful.

Pulse pasta, peas, vegan sausages and homemade pesto from the freezer.

I suspect before long I'll need to do some food shopping again, but where our doctors is only has an IGA which is kind of like trying to do a healthy weekly food shop at a petrol station food court. Impossible. And going into the city as well as the doctors will be too much for me in one go. At least I can get bananas for hubby from the IGA shop.

We used to have IGA stores here. They were the 1980s version of today's dollar stores. Yeah, not top-shelf grocery shopping, if yours are like the ones we had.

CD

For lunch while my car was being serviced, I had a Popeyes Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Another one of those rare fast food foods I crave from time to time. That's two days in a row.

For dinner, just another of my mini pizzas -- another pepperoni and fresh basil topped pie. That is actually pretty healthy, the way I make it. Plus, it's a perfect portion size.

There's a selection of fruit and veg, reasonable but not fantastic. Just the normal stuff, but they do stock fresh herbs and salad stuff. They've got a better range of mushrooms than the main supermarket. Then there is a deli counter, nothing there for us, plus (fresh) bread, milk and usual chilled stuff... tinned goods and pet food, some freezer stuff, but about 50% of the store is what is classed as "junk food" or "snacks" (and that's not even my definition! Lol). You can stock up if you're not needing much, or just needing to survive, but not enjoy food. More a top up than a weekly shop. Forgot something or fancy snacks type shop. Not a dollar store though here.

Yeah, that sounds like the IGA stores I remember.

We used to have IGA stores here.

We still have ‘em. I go from time to time, because they carry some things no other store around here does.

They come in two sizes here - “quickie mart” size with gas pumps and the bigger traditional store, complete with all the usual departments - more like a small Kroger.

If they were the only option, they’re stocked well enough that I could do my shopping there, but in today’s world, with specialty cheese sections and olive bars being the norm, with a built-in Starbucks and medical clinic, they really are a throwback to the ‘70’s.

I’m due to pop into one soon. Haven’t been in a while.

We still have IGA markets around here. The size of a medium size market. I haven't shopped at an IGA in many years.

Yesterday we tasted our new menu.
Pics in the spoiler
Graved mackerel, braised tomatoes, gremolata, sesame labneh

The remaining menu is either the same as before or just got changed marginally

Not fancying a long cook today so fast pan fried Liver and Bacon with a nuked Carrot and swede mash.
Still don’t like liver (apart from chicken liver) due to being forced to eat the gritty rubber offerings in the school canteen as a child but it‘s growing on me.
Love how crispy you can make bacon with a cast iron bacon press.
