I wasn’t planning on having ice cream today but they had bergamot ice cream! I’ve never seen a bergamot in my life and only see it listed in perfume ingredients but this was divine!

It's the other way around (sort of). Earl Grey (Wikipedia) = bergamot oil, Lady Grey (Wikipedia) = bergamot oil + additional lemon and orange peel.

I went to lunch with a neighbor today. We went to Cotton Patch, a Texas chain that does Texas comfort foods.

I had chicken fried steak, garlic mashed potatoes -- both covered with white gravy -- and fried okra. We also shared and order of fried shrooms.

Glory mate, I don't remember seeing it in Chinese supermarkets in the UK, probably because I just went in and bought repeats of the previous visit without looking.

Last night. Chicken thighs braised in reconstituted dried porcini mushrooms sauce. De-boned and served with pasta. It look rough but it is very tasty.

We are able to obtain this here. Don't know it it's the same.

This is a view of the "sauce itself".

It's what I would call medium fiery and has a very pronounced black pepper taste.
