Yay! I (kinda…sorta…) made a beer garden radish, with just my “skill” with a knife:

The main thing I learned, though, was that I should just buy the proper tool for the job:

So it's that great time of "year" when you know you're going away, you live off fresh veg and fruit mostly and everything you've got, right down to onions won't survive until you reopen home again in 4 weeks time...
So 2kg of onions became a Persian Onion Soup with Eggy Bread...
I added in some walnuts and apricots as per the recipe, but also thought that the sweetness of the apricots needed balancing with something, so our came the barberries. They worked really well together.
(The recipe gives 'extras' to go in the soup, but also states not all at once. They are walnuts, spinach and apricots.)

Despite the appearance, it is actually a very tasty and very easy soup to make.
They’re frequently served in beer gardens, spiral cut and heavily salted, along with soft pretzels and beer (we ate ours with a champagne!). Here’s ours from last weekend:Why is it a beer garden radish?
Looks spectacular! Our afternoon tea at a place called Coombe Abbey.

We’re praying for you. I’ll fight that with my salad:This very well may be my last post after eating this View attachment 105716 Turkey Dinner Leftover Poutine. Wish me luck.
Thanks for making me look like a gluttonous savage.
If it helps, I had a half-ounce of double Gloucester cheese with that. Thanks for making me look like a gluttonous savage.
