I think of a finished garage as one that is dry walled, painted and enclosed with a retracting garage door ... never had this Hawaii, just a carport all nasty like. This is real nice, we keep it keep and tidy. Folks will pass by and comment on how nice or garage is. We also put a coating on the floor of the garage to help keep it nice, rather than ugly ole cement.

Okay. Carports where I live, and most suburbs in Texas, are all closed in, and if the garage is less than about 50 years old, the walls have sheetrock.

In Florida carports are 3 walls. Garages have a garage door. Same here. Not many carports up in Ohio but I've seen a few, no gatage doors.

We don't refer to any of them as finished, but kaneohegirlinaz's sounds nicer than most (definitely nicer than ours).

We do refer to finished basements as being turned into living spaces as opposed to just a concrete room.

Garages/Carports: around here, a carport is anything less than a completely closed in garage, but typically is open at the front and back. Very popular here. Some are just a roof extension off the house, so three sides open. My sister’s is like that.

In this area, unless you’re buying a McMansion, your garage will quite possibly still have the studs and rafters showing, no finished walls or ceiling; hence, the terms unfinished and finished. It’s left to the homeowner to complete.

Same goes for basements, a lot of houses are built with the basement walls just roughed in and no finished ceiling. You look up, you see the upstairs floor. That’ll be called…surprise, surprise…an unfinished basement.

No need to freeze Spam®
I was waiting for you to point that out, but you should never let facts get in the way of a joke!

…and I ate the rest of Christmas pudd from yesterday. It’s sort of primed me up for Christmas 2022.

I'll wait until Halloween and Thanksgiving are done before I think about Christmas, thank you.

She saw that earlier this year and loved it.

I want to see your Spam shelf, lol. I can't imagine how a Hawaii gal runs out of rice though!

Edited to add the Smucker's is made 20 minutes from my house!
Our favorite is that Salted Caramel Ice Cream Topping! And the Hot Fudge is a close second, I always keep a jar of each in the outside pantry aka finished garage storage 😊
