What did you eat or cook today (December 2024)?

A simple lunch , at an old bar I used to frequent in Amersfoort ( where I was born)

They have a unique sauce for their grilled cheese, famous in town and they have been served this way for 50+ years

A version of medtran49 ‘s Hot n Sour soup ❤️
And lovely it was too!
A version because I opened the pork packaging and it didn’t smell right.
But I had a large cooked chicken breast I diced and I had pork mince which I made into little pork and cabbage dumplings (the white things) instead.
I didn’t have the lily flower ingredient so it was a few different bits n bobs for the content, they all worked well, I was happy and Mr SSOAP loved it.

Bonus I made enough for a repeat go tomorrow 😊

I've been so "ONO" (that's Hawaiian for "I'm so hungry for...") Chicken Chow Mein!
I don't think I've ever made it myself to be honest.
I could go a mile from our home in Kaneohe and do a take out for cheap.
This was mighty tasty and I got 6 servings from one recipe, probably because I added in 3 extra vegetables not called for in the recipe.
