Our Merlot has very little reaction to catnip. Her predecessor Ramases went nuts for it, drooling and speeding before finally mellowing out and going on a silent, spacy trip. We stopped giving it to him because he was getting so stoned.

That is interesting! Why would the sellers want the cats high?I believe that it's considered a weed (it certainly looks like a weed). It grows around our house and back field.
Also, when we buy the cat scratchers, the seller includes a couple of sachets of catnip in the box.
