Now that is something I miss. We now live about as far as you can from the sea in England. (about 1.5 hours drive). Have a quick trip planned this month. Just the thought is making me smile.

I live about a five hour drive from the sea, and that's not even close to as far as you can get from the sea in Texas. :(

Commenting on the one that says, "So the harder a wife works...," I read an article a while back that compared what men find sexy versus what women find sexy.

Men, it was a lot of physical things, but the women overwhelmingly were more like that guy in the old ad...they found it sexy when their partner was doing something domestic, like doing the washing up or putting a piece of IKEA furniture together.
It always bothered me when someone would ask me how I got my husband to babysit. I'm thinking "WTH?" He's not baby sitting. He's parenting.

I didn't realize how deep this societal programming was until he left us. I found hundreds of emails between him and other women and they were all holding him to be some kind of superhuman for taking care of his own kids. It's beyond stupid.

It takes approx 3.5 hours to get to Aldeburgh, worth it though.

I had a drive back from the sea this afternoon, nearly three hours.

I'm 25 or 30 mins away from the sea. Actually Christchurch is an hour away from pretty much anything, skiing swimming surfing fishing it's not far. I know there's people in the Midwest that die never seeing the sea. My Aunty growing up had a 1 min walk to the sea. Over a sand dune then it's there.
