Hubby made me laugh just before the left for work...
He gets up ½hr earlier than I do so that we can eat breakfast together. He has a tablet to take before food.
The result is that whilst I'm in the bathroom he puts breakfast together. After breakfast her collects the dishes and washes them literally just before he walks through the door (that's his mother's training having 4 boys, not mine).
He often complains or is waiting to take my coffee mug out of my hand add I finish that last mouthful. Today I had put the mug down momentarily before I drank that last mouthful. I only have 1 cup when he's at work or 2 cups of he is home, so like to drink all of it. When I went back for that mouthful, the mug had gone, the remains thrown and the mug now washed and upside down on the draining board.
So I complained in a joking manner. I declared that I wanted my money back. So he fished into his jacket pocket, have me a $1 coin, kissed me goodbye and left for the day!
What a good story.
I have a similar one, but so far it has not caused laughter. It might though, hopefully.
It was the last day of school, handing out paper certificates with grades. As usual things get a bit hectic, a colleaugue unnannouncedly asks me to to birrow her my classroom for a recording. Ok , so I take the 2 registry books I was just filling in to another room, then get kicked out again, so I take the books and settle upstairs, ok. I am fetching some paper material from the (piano)department's head room, where there is an upright piano and an electric organ, some desks and chairs, and a colleaugue comes needing me, so we both leave in a hurry.
As we leave, I spot a plastic cup of coffee from our vending machine , which someone had placed ON top of the piano. Which is,as everyone(should) know a big no no.
The cup looks empty, so I quickly throw it into the bin. However, there has been two sips of it, and it spills in the bin and splashes a bit onto the wall. Which I feel bad about. But a bit of paint or just washing it off would do.
Then a parent arrives 45 min late, so we do that, ok. Meanwhile I spot the head of the department looking upset, but he leaves to go home.
I have had no sms or chat message from whoever later on. If that was his cup of coffee, then I am shocked😂 but still willing to pay him a coffee. If it was a students' cup, I have designed a poster sign listing what cannot be done to a piano. Will display it in my room.
We have had a Coke spilled on the strings of a grand piano, so it is no joke.
We had talks about putting signs in every room with a piano, but with covid and other daily issues it kind of melted.
