On the way home from my umpteenth medical appointment today, I stopped at the Asian Supermarket in Frisco. I found some fresh turmeric. I also grabbed some mirin and some oyster sauce. Best score was some Kewpie mayonnaise. I looked for it there before, and they didn't have it.

We have that mayo here as well, daughter cooks Japanese a fair bit. She left a lot of Asian sauces and spices here. I love it with pop corn chicken.

Do you have any Asian markets near you?

You can get it on Amazon USA (I did a quick search) but not sure if the price isn't a bit high.
There's an Asian market, but it's a bit out of the way. It's in an area undergoing a bit more of the viral surge than I feel comfortable with, especially since this would be the only item I want to purchase atm. I'll look at Amazon.... can't cost much more than going to that store plus gas/petrol.

Yesterday more Dover sole. I bought several of portion size. These are the first three we prepped for the freezer.

Went to the restaurant store as it's been opened to the public and is considered essential due to it selling food. We needed a large bag of frozen spinach, as it's the only vegetable the boys will eat and we're in for a long lockdown with them at home.

I also got:
Foie gras for new year's eve
Beurre de barrate (3 different types, regular, herb and pimenton)
Norwegian smoked salmon
Chilli cheddar
Soy sauce in a large bottle

We've decided for Christmas Eve this year, we're going for trashy frozen junk food appetizers, so today I bought:
Taquitos
Veggie Eggrolls
Pizza Rolls
Potato Skins

Additionally, I got:
Crispy Crowns frozen potatoes
Crinkle-cut frozen potatoes
Yogurt
Eggs
English muffins
Decaf coffee pods
Cottage ham (aka, I'm pretty sure, rascal's pickled pork roll)
Brazil nuts
Boston lettuce
Red leaf lettuce
Cherry tomatoes
Half-and-half

I made a heavy shopping run Tuesday - seems they've called most of this storm right.
we've got about 6" so far - very fine flakes i.e. easy to snow-blow.
scheduled for 14" - probably going to make it....
perhaps sno-cones for desert?

I need to visit my Chinese market gardener, back up peas for Xmas day still required. They sell bags of picked peas in pod. I also need another bag of potatoes. Roasting for Xmas day, hell its only 8 days away. Web got the turkey roast the other day so I'm sorted for meat on Xmas day.

My local deli told me I would be unlikely to get better anchovies in the UK than these, whilst gently extracting a £5 note from my fingers. The will appear on toast at some point over Christmas. Anyone tried them?
