Went to Mexican market hoping they had Chihuahua cheese. They didn't, but had Oaxaca so got that instead. Planning on making tamales next weekend.

Craig got a few Manzano peppers for something TBD and i picked out a few nice tomatillos for green sauce for octopus nachos.

Everytime we go there i am tempted by their nopales. They are always so fresh looking, nicely green and plump.

Chihuahua cheese is not in many stores here, either.

Restaurant Depot has it, but it is in a huge package and A. We just aren't cooking that much anymore and B. Freezer space is still too tight for that much cheese, though is slowly becoming available.

RD also had fontinella cheese, but it was in a big wheel only to the tune of about $70. I went looking for a smaller package last week to no avail.

We went to RD hoping for stone crab claws but they were out. Told Craig to call on wednesday next week. He did pick up a pound can of lump crab meat, the kind that has to be refrigerated even though canned, basically almost fresh.

Crab meat is expensive now, too. What was a pound at RD? Jumbo lump, or regular lump?

Regular lump and just under $30 with tax.
Same thing here, last Christmas in NW Ohio I was paying about $15.00 for a pound of tinned lump crab that had to be refrigerated. Went to get a couple cans this year and it's going for $28 and some change for the same size tin.

Wonder if it's due to shippping /supply chain or just a bad year for the crab population...

A small Christmas indulgence. I can't digest whole mushrooms but a few truffle shavings should be fine.
