Yes. Its so beautiful. Especially if you plate it up to show off its fascinating fractal structure.
Seriously, when I look at one of these in real life it feels like I'm holding some kind of 3D printed model, and not a vegetable that grew in a field.

But if you know what to look for, even regular broccoli has a fractal shape. And that shape makes regular broccoli really really good at holding onto sauces, because it gets all in between the little "branches" and just gives you more flavor in every bite.

"The boonies" is a slang term for way out in the middle of nowhere. In my post, it means I had to park WAY far from the mall. There is another more "colorful" term that I can't use in polite company. It involves a fictional town in Egypt. Other Americans will know what that place is.

We too say boondocks, and wop wops.

A package showed up on my doorstep today. Thanks Tasty. The first two things are for making a Chicago Style hot dog. The third thing scares me a little -- Cincinnati chili.

In the words of Blue Öyster Cult, "Baby, don't fear the chili..." - keep in mind, I grew up here, and I don't eat that 💩- just make sure you put it on spaghetti...with some finely shredded cheddar (that's a 3-way), or on a hotdog, with mustard, onion, and cheese.

For those who don't know what a Chicago Hot Dog is...

A Chicago-style hot dog, Chicago Dog, or Chicago Red Hot is an all-beef frankfurter on a poppy seed bun. The hot dog is topped with yellow mustard, chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, tomato slices or wedges, pickled sport peppers and a dash of celery salt. The complete assembly of a Chicago hot dog is said to be "dragged through the garden" due to the many toppings.

Tasty sent me two ingredients I can't get here, the nuclear green relish and the sport peppers.

Thanks! I´m going to go out and buy some today; I love pickled peppers.
Looks like the sport pepper is from the same capsicum annuum genus as the serranos. The difference seems to be the pointed end - a serrano is sort of rounded.
Since all chile peppers originally came from Latin America, I´ve no idea where this one grew up. These days there are so many variants and new hybrids, it´s impossible to keep up with them.

You can get them at Meijer, though a different brand (Puckered Pickle Company, I think) - the last time I checked those, they were a couple of years past their best by date and looked very grey and sad.

Jungle Jim's probably sell them, though I can't say for certain. I got these at Dorothy Lane Markets, a three-store gourmet grocer, especially noted for its bakery, deli, and meats departments.

The closest DLM to you is straight up I-75 (for you, 71 to 275 to 75), in Springboro, near the Austin Landing exit.

If you feel like a little excursion, it's a nice shop. It's probably 45 minutes from you.

Welcome to Dorothy Lane Market!

They're especially nice at Christmastime.

Oh, and their cheese department is excellent, as is their beer/wine department. Unlike some other places I could mention, they employ cheesemongers and sommeliers that have actually been trained/certified in their respective crafts.
