This will morph into a Poke Bowl for DH - can I tell you how excited he is?
I only bought a 1/4 pound to try - if we like it I'll go back and buy like a pound.
This is so true to how we make it Hawaii, it even has Kukui Nut or Inamona in it!!
You NEVER find that outside of Hawaii.
When I go back, I need to talk to who ever 'made' this ...

SatNavSaysStraightOn what do you do with the Rose Water?
I bought some a coupla years ago and there it sits ...
It goes into quite a few middle eastern dishes but so far I've used it in Recipe - Sholeh Zard/Sari Shilah - Persian Saffron Rice Pudding

My baklava recipe also called for it, and it can also go into a standard apple pie/crumble. I've also added it to a the homemade saffron & rose petal tea I make from "scratch" rather than buying tea bags.

I've not tried it on an savoury dishes yet, but I gather it works quite well in some.

I gather that it's really good for the skin especially applied via a misting bottle to the face, but I've not tried that either!

Isn't it early for cantelope? I don't usually even look at it until June.

So far, they’ve been as green as watermelons. Today, though…a nice yellow-gold, and just the hint of melony-syrupy sweetness coming from its bellybutton, so I’m hoping it’s a good one. This one is from Kroger, so my faith is likely misplaced.

I did get one from the international market a good month or more ago, and it was very good, so sometimes it works out.

Not heard of doing that - I usually steep in a little warm water or crush and add it neat to dishes when cooking.
It's one of the tests of the quality of saffron apparently, though I was meant to grind it (but I'm still waiting for my dedicated saffron pestleand mortar). I've been reading up on it because I have my own saffron crocus corms and wanted to know how to deal with the saffron to process it.

JFC, who’da thot decaf whole bean coffee would be so 🤬 hard to find?!?!

I went to regular Kroger, big Kroger, Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme, Meijer, and an in-store Starbucks (big Kroger), and finally found some at a freestanding Starbucks:

That, and my medium coffee-with-milk was $20US and some change. 🤨

Well, at least it’s a proper pound of coffee and not that stupid 12oz BS they sell in the grocery stores.

I'm sorry, but I never understood the concept of decaf coffee. Well I mean for people who actually like coffee for it's taste I get it. I am one of those who puts a little coffee in the sweetened creamer. I drink coffee for caffeine. I do love tea. It was actually funny, I stopped on the road Thursday on my way home for sushi and asked for hot green tea and they served it with the sugar caddy. I found that odd. I will do a little honey in black tea but green tea never should be sweetened (in my opnion).
