This is the first time I’ve seen Kroger-branded whole milk mozzarella. They usually only carry Sargento, so I’m trying it out.

Sigh…if they’d only stock it in blocks, like the bigger locations. I shouldn’t complain, though; two years ago, they didn’t sell any whole milk mozzarella.

Pickles were buy-one-get-one-free, and I had a coupon for the deli meat.

ALDI sells light brown sugar, but not dark brown sugar. Had to get that at Kroger…. 🤔

Rarity for me to buy frozen battered fish, but it’ll make for a quick weeknight meal, and I have a packet of mushy peas I need to use.

That wine…$6US!

We were talking about canned beans earlier…these were about 75¢ a can.

Ketchup was also 2-for-1.

I've been buying it at Kroger for a long time. It is the only store-brand whole milk mozz I have seen around here.

At the big Kroger (and other places), I can get blocks of Boar’s Head.

Here in town at the regular Kroger, I could get Sargento, but only shredded, which I don’t prefer, as it doesn’t melt as nicely. Before a couple of years ago, I couldn’t even get that.

I know it's about 2 hours from you, but Miceli's (local dairy) is carried in all of our local grocery stores here (except Aldi) and maybe not at Meijer. That might be because our local grocery stores are regional chains and not national (other than Meijer). But Belgioioso is also carried at most stores, I think both Target and Walmart have it?

I can’t tell for certain from the link, but those look like fresh mozzarella. The BelGioioso mozzarella that Kroger (and the others) carry down this way are all the fresh varieties.

What I’d like to be able to get (without driving 35 minutes each way) is blocks of Boar’s Head whole milk mozzarella. It’s the dry stuff, like you’d find in an old-school dirty pizzeria:

Yeah. Miceli's has the "regular" and the fresh. I thought Belgioioso did too. I don't remember.

Like I said, caffeine messes with me. I can drink one cup early in the morning, but that's all. As for non-alcohol beer, I prefer alcohol in my beer, but my Hepatologist says I can't live without my liver.
There you go. Different strokes for different folks - but in your case, your liver is far more important!👍👍

Drove up to the farmer's market place today. Craig got some jalapeños for stuffing. I picked out some baby eggplant, plus a red bell, some zucchini and yellow squash, and the main reason for going, 3 bunches of RAMPS!

Craig got busy and put everything away before I got in the house since I needed to do something outside so no pics. 🤷‍♀️

I had a delivery today...

This is a company that sells to the public and wholesale but doesn't mark up the prices (much if at all) to the public, so all of this was around £50.

They were not the quickest to despatch and deliver but it was free delivery if you ordered $125 or more. So I did, only 2 items were not available (new warehouse inventory system issues) so not only did they refund what was missing (expected), but this dropped me below the free delivery (I would have happily ordered more to get me back over the minimum) so they honoured the free delivery (thankfully) and those really observant of you will have spotted, they sent me a few gift as "compensation".

Yep I'll use them again. Their date produce is excellent. I've got some of their date paste and it has so much more flavour in it than supermarket date syrup, that we've bought their date syrup as well which is fantastic.
(The date powder is similar to coconut sugar. I'm use it in my water kefir.)

Noodles & Asian greens.

I bought a couple of random stir fry / fry pot kits from the Asian market so we are having the Szechuan tonight. I called son to open it and see what’s included. 2 packs of what appear to be chilli paste. Yesterday I sourced fresh flat very thin wheat noodles to go in it with chicken & bok choy etc. probably should be without veg but I like a one pot meal on a Friday.

Sounds yummy
