What produce/ingredients did you buy or obtain today (2025)?

Great northern beans!

Ahhhhh! Ok.
What is that? Just boiled shrimp and crawfish, or does it have a sauce with it?
No, it's just a seasoning blend. Most people make a cocktail sauce with horseradish, ketchup, etc. to use for a dip with the boiled seafood, except for maybe the crab, which might be eaten plain or with drawn butter. I like a butter, garlic, lemon sauce for crab/lobster.

Hmm I’ll try again..

Crawfish Shrimp and Crab what?
Crawfish Shrimp and Crab Boil! I bought that one since it was on sale but try to always buy Zatarain's brand; it's the best.

Zatarain's spices come in a pouch with holes in it but if you're old school you empty all of that into the pot and discard the plastic bag.

I use these to make boiled peanuts... 😋

I thought it used to come in a mesh pouch? I haven't bought that brand in so long I forgot, but I don't remember a plastic pouch.

Yes, used to be mesh. That pouch is petty restrictive, I think, for utilizing the spices so I just dump in the pot. Did the same with the mesh.

My grandma (who was from Louisiana before she moved to SE Texas) always just left the mesh on, as did my parents/aunts/uncles/cousins, so I did the same.

It actually sounds like quite a nice blend!
I can just about go along with the boiling a prawn for 60 seconds but the instruction to leave it on the hot water for 15-20 mins - sacrilege 😂
Sounds like a corp. CYA attempt on the directions for avoiding a lawsuit for people eating undercooked seafood...
