No, the arrow was pointed at the crawfish and shrimp boil...I have that in my pantry, too. Different brand.Beans for making baked beans, for the uninitiated (including me!)

No, it's just a seasoning blend. Most people make a cocktail sauce with horseradish, ketchup, etc. to use for a dip with the boiled seafood, except for maybe the crab, which might be eaten plain or with drawn butter. I like a butter, garlic, lemon sauce for crab/lobster.Ahhhhh! Ok.
What is that? Just boiled shrimp and crawfish, or does it have a sauce with it?
Crawfish Shrimp and Crab Boil! I bought that one since it was on sale but try to always buy Zatarain's brand; it's the best.
I like to use smaller beans for baked beans since they cook faster.Beans for making baked beans, for the uninitiated (including me!)
I thought it used to come in a mesh pouch? I haven't bought that brand in so long I forgot, but I don't remember a plastic pouch.Crawfish Shrimp and Crab Boil! I bought that one since it was on sale but try to always buy Zatarain's brand; it's the best. View attachment 122983
Zatarain's spices come in a pouch with holes in it but if you're old school you empty all of that into the pot and discard the plastic bag.View attachment 122984

I use these to make boiled peanuts...
Yes, used to be mesh. That pouch is petty restrictive, I think, for utilizing the spices so I just dump in the pot. Did the same with the mesh.I thought it used to come in a mesh pouch? I haven't bought that brand in so long I forgot, but I don't remember a plastic pouch.
I never thought about cooking times, it just seems like smaller beans are the right beans, navy beans/haricot beans usually. I guess great Northern aren't that much bigger.I like to use smaller beans for baked beans since they cook faster.
My grandma (who was from Louisiana before she moved to SE Texas) always just left the mesh on, as did my parents/aunts/uncles/cousins, so I did the same.Yes, used to be mesh. That pouch is petty restrictive, I think, for utilizing the spices so I just dump in the pot. Did the same with the mesh.
Sounds like a corp. CYA attempt on the directions for avoiding a lawsuit for people eating undercooked seafood...It actually sounds like quite a nice blend!
I can just about go along with the boiling a prawn for 60 seconds but the instruction to leave it on the hot water for 15-20 mins - sacrilege
