My grandma could cook a lot of things perfectly, and seafood was one of them (and her fried chicken was the best), but she always overcooked vegetables. Even those already-mushy veggies that came in the can were then vigorously boiled to death.
I didn't dare make comments about food if I didn't like it at grandma's house. I asked for more of what I did like and ate all of what I didn't (if she put it on the plate). Complaining is a great way to get smacked in the ears!
And the pakora was born!
Never got smacked (well twice ever by my mum) but wouldn’t have dared complain about some things like over cooked veg or have even known they came in any other form than over cooked!
To serve back to staying on topic today I bought something that to me is an abomination but to Mr SSOAP is a childhood love -

Yes one of his favourite flavours is blue!
They had a blue and red twin pack but the red ingredients said “Not suitable for children under the age of three. May cause hyperactivity”
I loved Slushies but I never saw it in a bottle (and I surely would not have chosen blue).
