What would you choose?

My kind of food truck!

Currywurst for me!

Never heard of oysters described that way but I assume it means how salty they naturally taste. Nobody in their right mind would brine an oyster.
I would assume it is based on the brackish level of the waters that they came from. There are a lot of oyster bays all over the US, and some have more rivers and streams flowing into them than others...oysters that are sourced from close to the river/streams have less salinity than those that might be closer to the part of the bay that opens up to the Gulf of Mexico or the ocean.

I'm surprised you weren't icked out and actually went in.
We were both starving (because we weren’t adhering to scheduled meal times… :whistling: ) and the place we’d planned on eating closes at noon on Sundays (seriously?!), so we pulled over, grabbed the phone, saw that place was four minutes away, and that’s where we went.

Had it just been a normal stop, I would have walked in and walked right back out again, but we were to the point of collapsing, so we stayed.

It even got off to a rough start, as the host seemed confused as to where to seat us and even said something about “…seat you here, but I’m not sure if we have a server working this area. Enjoy!” 🤨

Then, when I made my first choice, the French dip burger, our server said, “Yeah…we’re out of burgers…,” I thought it was going to be a huge disappointment, but the food and the service were excellent in the end.

I think the smoked pork chops. I like the idea of the jumbo lump crab cakes, but not in a sandwich. There are bread crumbs in the crabmeat mixture so that's just a bit much. What are the side choices? I'm thinking some mashed potatoes and peas (here's looking at you, SandwichShortOfAPicnic) or some steamed broccoli with butter would be nice.

I’m having the vinegar cuke salad and MrsT is having corn and scalloped potatoes.
I'd have the cuke salad too, that or the broccoli salad depending on what's in it. The green side dishes are pretty limited, eh? Scalloped potatoes would be good, but I might have a baked potato instead, forget the mashed. Although they do sound good with the smoked pork chops. Wait--you didn't say what your entrees are?

I'm also a bit bemused by serving some elegant crab cakes with a bag of potato chips! I get it, it's a sandwich, but...

Those’ll show up in the eatin’ topic in a bit.

Three reasons:

1. Close to Maryland, so crab cakes are everywhere
2. This place is as far from elegant as it gets
3. We’re in the snack chip capital of the world, so chips/crisps are highly regarded here
