What would you choose?

Those’ll show up in the eatin’ topic in a bit.

Three reasons:

1. Close to Maryland, so crab cakes are everywhere
2. This place is as far from elegant as it gets
3. We’re in the snack chip capital of the world, so chips/crisps are highly regarded here
Yes, I knew you weren't far from Baltimore (I was born at Andrews AFB, Maryland and I have some family in Baltimore). I also noticed a nod to the Bay of Fundy on that menu, which was interesting since it is quite a distance away (I crossed that on my way to Nova Scotia some years ago)...

And I could tell it was a diner (Dutch Country Restaurant was my first clue), but still. Crab cakes to me are always elegant, no matter if eaten off paper plates and on a picnic table.

Looks like about 1961 to me.

Pie case!

I think the smoked pork chops. I like the idea of the jumbo lump crab cakes, but not in a sandwich. There are bread crumbs in the crabmeat mixture so that's just a bit much. What are the side choices? I'm thinking some mashed potatoes and peas (here's looking at you, SandwichShortOfAPicnic) or some steamed broccoli with butter would be nice.
Aaaargh a perfectly good forum ruined by the P word 😂

I want tomatoes on toast... oh, hang on, they aren't on the menu either. I will have a Western egg sandwich as it has something green in it. I'm hoping the egg will be fried with a soft runny yolk.

Now tell me, how do the shredded potatoes differ from hash brown and what is Texas toast?
The eggs would most likely be done either scrambled (by the definition here) or fried with the yolk busted, like a McD’s Egg McMuffin egg.

Shredded potatoes and hash browns are the same thing, just different names, and Texas toast is just super-thick sliced bread…the same thickness as two or three regular slices of supermarket bread.
