Whatcha drinking (2025)?

I learned recently that the most toxic food items for dogs are 1) chocolate, because of the theobromin 2) grapes, raisins &, consequently, wine, because they cause kidney failure 3) onions, garlic, leeks, chives - not so serious, but they cause diarrohea.

I knew about grapes but never even thought about wine, DUH me.

I went to make myself another Margarita ala Chef John

And it dawned on me ... didn't I hear/read/see somewhere that if you microwave a Lime, along with rolling on the counter top, it will yield more juice?
DOH!

I got twice as much juice for today's cocktail, compared to my previous go around ....

This is cocktail is dangerously delicious!

My favorite Margarita of all times though was in Key West Florida at Margaritaville

Fun fact: did you know that it's LEGAL to walk the streets of Key West with an open container of alcohol?
I got this cocktail topped off, for free, and given a to-go-cup!!!!
So cool!!!

How long to microwave?

These Limes were labeled "large" and when I looked it up it was said, 20-30 seconds - I thought that too long, so I cut the difference and zapped them for 15 seconds on high. They were quite warm to the touch.

Thank you. I've known about the rolling on the countertop but it's a first for the microwave.

I had one last large Lime leftover, but no more single shots of Tequila.
Made my Friday Fuel Day run to our local Krogers (4xfuel points on fridays) and found this one instead of Jimmy's...

Jose, you're just okay, Jimmy's Tequila was soooooo much better!

Yesterday it was Pina Colada’s and I thought I should share my little oopsy with you.
Don’t dump the coconut milk in there thinking the churning motion will sought out the mixing for you

Should of mixed the tin a bit before hand
But I turned the cooling right down or up so it didn’t slushie too quickly and just let it run until it sorted itself out and had a lovely gin and tonic in the meantime

Needs a bit of garnish I think. So tasty. Will definitely be doing this one again. So simple.
