Are there foods you used to hate that you like now? What changed?

Now there's something I stopped doing years and years ago. Like you, I only take off the really scruffy leaves outside; but I don't cut a cross in the base. I've never noticed a huge difference, cross or no crcross.
We have found it necessary in the airfryer it oven when roasting then to get the middle cooked. Else is burnt on the outside and raw on the inside.
 
Do you like a little raw spinach in a salad mixed with other greens?
Yep, I can do that, though I won’t eat a spinach salad.

Back before Covid, on days I was in the office, I’d drive over the river to the big Kroger and get a salad from their salad bar sometimes for lunch, and I felt very pleased with myself for loading up a giant takeaway container with romaine, and iceberg, and healthy beans, and fresh peas…some sunflower seeds on there, two kinds of cheese, light ranch dressing…and precisely five baby spinach leaves, meticulously picked over to find ones with no stems attached.
