Christmas 2024

We always have a standing rib roast, I’ve probably posted it up here. I’ll have to check later.

Past Christmas dinner.

That beef roast looks great…top sirloin? Do you have a recipe for that?
Thanks. Eye round roast. That’s my favorite cut for roast. Love it with burgundy gravy and Yorkshire pudding.
Not home at moment. Will write up later.

Family on both sides are having a fractious year and there’s little peace and goodwill anywhere to be found amongst them.
So after my previous experiences of Christmas’ past where I’ve slaved away forever and a day to produce a lovely meal, provide thoughtful gifts and a warm comfortable Christmas only to have silly unpleasant behaviour tear it apart I’ve decided I’m not doing it with them.

I’ll be spending Christmas with Mr SSOAP and my two boys 👏
I’ve told them I won’t be here, I’m going to Spain.
Whether I actually go to Spain or not is another matter…

It was very hard to do but I feel happy with the outcome 😊

Hold on tight everyone - He's started 🤣
I’m feeling quite behind in things, because of the back-to-back traveling we’re doing.

My niece - her tree went up and was fully decorated, inside the house decorated November 1st. She’s also informed me that since then, they’ve been eating nothing but “Christmas food.”

I honestly feel lighter and happier already! 😁
I agree it's a good solution.

This year it's going to be the new grandchild's first Christmas and my son wants to come here. As the baby won't remember a single thing about it and will hopefully be asleep most of the time then that is fine by me. So it's going to be me, son, son's girlfriend, baby and my daughter plus Steve if he comes out of respite care. The latter is unknown right now.

It's traditional turkey on the menu with the usual trimmings. I think my daughter may help with the cooking. One of my favourite things is bread sauce. I love it. In fact I will eat if any day of the year. Not a thing in America at all I gather. I also love sprouts so no problem there.

I love bread sauce but no-one else here does due to having to eat some awful iterations when they were at school 😞
But brussel sprouts rule!!
