Christmas 2024

Those look awesome! Don't think you need the link...

I need to get a different pan for making mine. The one I have doesn't do that heat distribution thing fast enough.
Thank you.

I use a large glass pie plate for the full size. The minis are made in mini dutch ovens.

I guess we all have our thresholds, but for us, it’s more than just the actual items in the hamper, it’s also about the fun of looking through them all online, picking one out, then anticipating its arrival…it’s the whole experience of it all that counts.

It feels very old-fashioned, and prim and proper and, yes, luxurious, even if it is just tea and biscuits…it’s tea and biscuits from a far-flung, almost mythical establishment, and for a little bit after it arrives, it’s like it’s 1910, and we’ve just gotten this nice little delivery. It harkens back to another place and time, really, which makes it feel very special indeed.
You know, there are places where you can pick the hamper (or other container) you want, then pick out what you want in it. Pretty pricy, but it sounds like what you are already getting is pretty pricey too.

I have to add this little bit to the hamper story.

When we check into a hotel, I unpack the car, and I usually prefer to make several small trips instead of overloading myself with fewer big trips.

I’d gotten to chatting a little with the young woman working the desk, each time in and each time out, we were joking around a little bit, and the last trip in, I was carrying my coat and that small F&M hamper.

I walked through the doors into the lobby, and she said, “Wha’s ‘at li’l picnic basket…ya havin’ a picnic up in the room up ‘ere?! Ya jus’ go on wi’ ya self an’ ‘at li’l basket, Romeo!”

I don’t know what she thought I had in there, but it was just coffee supplies!

We finally put some Xmas decorations around the house. No tree this year; they're ridiculously expensive , around $100 for a natural one, and I'm not throwing money away on that. I'd rather go out for lunch!
So a few shiny baubles, a few ornaments , that's about it.
Out tree is about 20 years old. The box Is worse than the tree.
